Dear Church Family,
Day 5

Happy First Day Of SPRING!!! I am thankful that we are walking this COVID-19 situation as the weather is tempting to open the windows and take leisurely walks. I had to laugh when this came to me from an old friend, Ralphie. He streaked past Carrie on his way up to the college library in the dead of winter. Don’t worry, he was wearing sneakers and had a paper bag covering his face. Remember the WHERE’S WALDO books? We still have a wand that has WALDO hiding in the sparkles. I think I have found him two times in 30 years. Carrie created immediate SOCIAL DISTANCING as Ralphie and Joel (both pastors & former African missionaries) literally flashed past her. Not that I’m recommending creating social distancing by walking in our birthday suites, though I’m sure that would be successful. I am just connecting FINDING WALDO, social distancing, and Ralphie streaking past my wife 40 years ago. So can you find WALDO in the picture? Trust me, it isn’t that easy in our Waldo Wand in the grandkids toy box.

The structure is in place for all of us to be cared for, and checked in on, by someone in the church. Everybody will be called. Sandy Archer will call Carrie & me on a regular basis. Sandy North will be calling the Archers!

Also, there should be a message on the website this Sunday. I am still trying to figure out the direction of these reflections given the unique nature of our situation. I will listen to myself Sunday to see what I say.

Have a wonderful day. The sky is blue & the air is warming to 60 degrees. And as we inhale deeply while enjoying the changing of the seasons, let’s remember the words of Jesus.

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”

Peace of Christ
