Isaiah 42:1-9, Acts 10:34-43 & Matthew 3:13-17
Guest speaker, Frank Moore, speaks on the dove power of Jesus and trusting in him. The Holy Spirit of baptism delivers forgiveness of sin and sanctification. The Holy Spirit gives us power to do great things. This power is not a power of might, but a power of peace, a dove power. John the Baptist must trust Jesus when he asks him to baptize him because this is not what he expects his role to be as a follower of Jesus. However, John learns that Jesus is here to serve not to be served. We must trust in this dove power of Jesus and not in the works of man and this world. We must remember that we are here to serve one another.
