Mark 8:31-38
Christian faith is not as easy, tame, and comfortable as some try to convince us it is. It is actually quite difficult, constantly challenging, downright dangerous. When Jesus tells us, He came to suffer and die. . . for us. . . He also adds, if you want to be mine you’re going to have to take-up your cross and follow me. Christian faith involves suffering and death, we can’t get around that. BUT the ROI, Return On Investment, is worth it. We either can gain the whole world. . . and in exchange forfeit our soul. Or, we can follow Christ, gain life here and now, and gain eternity too.
