We are the redeemed – saved by God’s grace and not because of any merit on our part. God chose us in Jesus Christ to be adopted as his children. The Bible is the written Word of God and proclaims to us the Good News of Jesus Christ, who alone is the way to our adoption as God’s children.
Our Essential Tenets are spelled out for us as an ECO congregation. If you would like a clear, in-depth expression of these beliefs click here.
We attempt to live out the relational nature of the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God loves us and sent His Son. We are to live in love toward one another.
Who is Who at Our Redeemer

Mark Bassett
Since 2013, Mark Bassett has pastored Our Redeemer Presbyterian Church. Mark has experience all across the U.S., hailing from Detroit, graduating from Nyack College in New York as a philosophy major, and earning his Master’s Degree from Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack, New York. Ordained in the Christian and Missionary Alliance (CMA), Mark has served churches in New City, New York; Blaine, Washington; and Moses Lake. The Bassetts spent two years as missionaries in Germany in the mid-1990s. His six years as teacher/counselor/principal at Moses Lake Christian Academy, and a decade serving in Grant, Adams, and Lincoln Counties for Assured Hospice as chaplain and patient care representative have given Mark a depth of understanding for the needs of a community. He teaches and counsels, leads youth to an understanding of their faith, and regularly challenges congregants to recognize the gift of Jesus in their lives and in the life of the congregation. Come any Sunday and meet Mark at a 9 a.m. service!

Matt Biggs
Matt started attending Our Redeemer in 2022, and officially signed on as Worship Administrator in the fall of 2025. With over 15 years of music and worship experience, Matt's goal is to make worship accessible for everyone and bring about a welcoming environment for people to praise God. He and his family enjoy serving the people at Our Redeemer and working to bless the community.

Dara Scherpenisse
Dara grew up in Michigan, but has lived out “West” since 2003. Her and her family moved to Ephrata in 2018. She also has lived in Florida, Utah, and Nevada where she worked outdoors helping nature recover from harm. She has two kids with her husband Marc. She loves being out in nature and enjoys the quiet, peaceful beauty of the Ephrata area.

Glen Bauermeister
Since October 2017, Glen Bauermeister has been the Custodian at Our Redeemer Presbyterian Church. Glen’s desire to make the church a welcoming place to everyone through the care of the facility is seen in every detail of his work. His friendly smile, hard work, and dependability make him a valuable member of our team. You’ll never find our facilities not ready for you thanks to Glen!
