Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for Weekend in the Word.  It was an amazing weekend of study, enlightenment, and applicable teachings on how to apply common words into our Christian way of living.  We were able to record two of the three sessions and encourage all of you to listen and apply them to your own hearts.

Here is a recap of what Dr Edwards presented:  “The Christian Way of Living, Loving, and Believing,” focused on the three words of “life” in the New Testament (bios, psyche, zoe), the three meanings of “faith” in the New Testament (belief, trust, commitment), and the three words for “love” in the New Testament (eros, philia, agape).

Dr James "Jim" R. Edwards- Weekend in the Word guest speaker February 2022Weekend in the Word, a long-standing tradition of the Ephrata Presbyterian Churches, is a weekend of thoughtful, theological, and academic, Christian topics presented by a wide array of speakers on topics spanning the Christian experience. The February 2022 Weekend in the Word at Our Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Ephrata will host Dr. James “Jim” R. Edwards, Professor Emeritus of Theology at Whitworth University.

As an author, professor, and theologian, Edwards will present, “The Christian Way of Living, Loving, and Believing,” which focuses on the three words of “life” in the New Testament (bios, psyche, zoe), the three meanings of “faith” in the New Testament (belief, trust, commitment), and the three words for “love” in the New Testament (eros, philia, agape).

“While Jim is a thoughtful, studied, and deep-thinking scholar, he cares about making the Gospel concrete, personal, and relevant. We are blessed to have him speak to us and immerse us in the Gospels this February. We pray the local community will come share this experience with us and not miss an opportunity to learn from Jim and his years of study,” Pastor Mark Bassett.

Weekend in the Word is free and all are welcome to attend this two day event. Held Friday, February 4, from 7-8:30pm and Saturday, February 5, from 9am-12pm (noon). Refreshments are provided free of charge. We do ask that you wear a mask when not eating, for the protection of all. Masks will be available on site for those without.

Although encouraged to attend both sessions, you are welcome to attend one as well.
